Andaz One Bangkok (2025)
Coloured Arc, Your Branches
Technique: Textile mixed media
Size: W 160 x H 280 cm
This festive installation is crafted using leftover yarns saved from many of textile artist Ploenchan Vinyaratn’s previous design projects. Layered in vibrant tiers and inspired by roi malai, the tradition of Thai garland weaving, the tree gathers these remnants into a sculptural form that celebrates abundance, gratitude ,and renewal.
Unlike natural evergreens that wither or artificial ones that often degrade to microplastics, this tree enters a different kind of cycle. Its materials have lived other lives before this moment, and its future form remains open. The piece reflects Vinyaratn’s belief that materials carry their own histories and possibilities, and that beauty can emerge from what is continually reimagined.
Blockwilt
Wall Textile Art by Ploenchan Vinyaratn
Blockwilt incorporates motifs of iconic landmarks and familiar places, congregating disparate elements, including a clock tower in Lumpini Park, an ambassador's residence on Wireless Road, even the ubiquitous tangle of power lines.
